Melons!

I do like a lovely melon or 2... Can anyone give me advice on growing melons in my polytunnel? where do i start never grown them

I never have much success with melons, but what I did one year was to nick a long wide piece of chicken wire  and bend it a bit so it looked like a low cloche.  Planted my melons through the holes into mounds of compost.

The melons (what there were of them) grew while sitting on top of the wire.  I always worry about then growing upwards because of their weight.
