The reality of eating that lot only dawned on me when I got home and then they almost immediately decided to start growing 

As long as they don't go in the water - couple of tubs of emergency mash   

I probably have enough bits to do a chicken dinner but I'm not overly enthusiastic about it.  I did buy some frozen sliced leeks, I might give those a try rather than the usual chunky mixed veg.

OK this morning, if a little grey.  Got my grass cut at home.  It gets punished by chickens, so never looks great, but at least it’s not long and untidy … just short and scrappy   

Progressively greyer with spits and spots of rain since lunchtime and some more serious stuff arrived about an hour ago.

Hello everyone - just joined this forum.  We recently moved back to North Yorkshire and our new home has four raised beds and a greenhouse and keen to carry on from the previous owners in growing our own veg.  We have fruit trees too. 

I have just planted courgette and red pepper seeds in the greenhouse and sown carrots, cabbage, kohl rabi, radishes, beets and some courgette seeds outside.  Do I need to cover all these?
