Can anyone tell me where I can get the cheapest plant supports.

Out of the hedge bottom! They call in all thicknesses and are recommended for all plants, plus no air miles :)

I use clematis netting which you can buy from the garden centre or Wilko's, depending on how much length you want. I fix it in a tube around the plants with canes at the back. The plant's leaves grow through the netting so you can't see it. Cut and use it to whatever height you need - buy the max height and you can cut it with scissors for your needs. My delphs survived massive winds and it stopped other plants like perennial geraniums from flopping onto the lawn by fixing it in a semi-circle but cut low so the stems and leaves grow and rest on the top. It's far cheaper than the fancy stuff, and I leave it in place over winter for next year, or you can take it down and store it in the shed.

That's the netting - it's not very wide so if you can find a wider one locally, you can avoid p+p and can cut some in half if you need to, so it will be cheaper. Many garden centres should stock it. Twigs are great but can fall over or even root and this does the trick for me and can be re-used.
