Title: When to change pellets please????
Post by: lottienewbie on June 08, 2009, 19:08
Hi all,
our girls are now 14 weeks old,and are on growers pellets, but when is it the right time to change to layers pellets? and when to offer grit/oyster shell and a treat of corn, i am aware they wont start laying for about another 10 weeks.
if someone could shed some light on this for me please,
many thanks.
Neil.

I would start to change them over now, and also start with the other stuff, grit and oyster shell to be available all the time, and just a small amount of mixed corn about an hour before bed if you wish.

good luck not too long to wait for eggies, some hens lay before 24 weeks (around 18 weeks onwards depending on breed)
