Not my coop but....
« on: August 20, 2011, 16:05 »
... it looked seriously good  ;)

There we were chugging down the canal and coming up to some moored narrowboats.  We slowed down and I had to do a double take as I wasn't sure I was seeing right.  There was a narrowboat, with a 'little narrowboat' tied to its rear.  The 'little narrowboat' turned out to be a chicken coop complete with ramp to the tow path with 2 bantams on the side merrily pecking away at the grass in a makeshift run.

The owner of the boat appeared as I was taking pics and he reckons they give him an egg a day each.

Just goes to show, you can keep chooks anywhere you happen to be  :tongue2:

When I was young we used to go 'skinny dipping,' now I just 'chunky dunk.'

what a lovely idea and the chickens get a fresh bit of grass every day  :).

I have seen it all!   :tongue2:
When I die I will slide in sideways, a glass of wine in one hand and chocolate in the other, screaming, "Whooo hooo!  What a ride!" as life is to be enjoyed to the fullest!

That is one of those things you just wouldn't believe unless you had seen it with your own eyes!  Amazing!

That is fantastic. Just goes to show that if you want to keep chooks badly enough, there is always a way to do it.

Oh how wonderful!  Next time I go on holiday I will remember this and get my chickens their own caravan to tow behind the car.  When we stop for a picnic they can jump out and stretch their legs!  :D

Airline pilots can buy their own caravans.  I'm sure they get paid enough.  I'm reserving mine for chickens.

I thought this looked like an egloo on wheels: http://www.outdoorsmagic.com/gear-blog/video---mini-caravantastic/8617.html I was wondering how many you can tow in a train? One for me and the wife, one for the kids, one for the dogs and one for the chooks. Fish will have to stay at home though!
