Not quite sure what an iron is!

We don't use lint sheets and rarely use the dryer since Val's discovered we can get 1000 nectar points for reducing electric consumption. Please excuse the typos - she says the monitor uses too much juice :)

An iron is one of those big heavy things that you want to hurl at your OH when he removes non iron clothes from the line and manages to turn them into permanent crease items in impenetrable knots!

We have two drying racks and everything that we wash goes on the racks in our back sitting room which we dont use in winter.  Then I put the dehumidifier on.   I try to do the washing at night so it is ready to be put out in the morning if it is dry. I put washing out on the line as often as possible but my granddaughter hates towels that have been dried outside or on the airers.  Does anyone know if a dehumidifier uses less electricity that a tumbler?  Let me know. :?:  I am lucky that my husband doesnt need shirts for his job so I have very little ironing to do which is okay by me.

No idea which would be cheaper. I'd guess dehumidifier, as they are designed for perminent use;

We hang laundry outside only on breezy days, otherwise the fabrics remain bristly. A breeze ensures clothes flap around and soften.

The only time the iron has come out in the last few months was when my daughter had a job interview! :lol:  We have a family uniform, T shirts (usually black) and jeans, non that need ironing! My husband's work shirts get hung up and the creases fall out (well nearly!). The same with my son's polo shirts for work. Life is too short for ironing! Too many plants to grow and chickens and ducks to watch!
1 Allotment, 7 chickens, 15 Ducks, 4 Giant Rabbits, 3 Ferrets, 5 Cats, 2 grown up kids and a wonderful husband!
