Fireworks
« on: October 22, 2009, 15:01 »
Just wondered if anyone had any tips for the coming nights when fireworks will be let off?

We have only had our chickens about 6 months so have not been through this before, do they cope ok with it or has anyone got any good advice?

Thanks

When similar questions have been asked the consensus seems to be that the chooks aren't bothered. I have checked mine when the firewoks are bad and they seem to take no notice.
Experience is what you get when you didn't get what you wanted!!

I am so very glad to know this, as this was a major concern for us.  We have alot of fireworks going off around us on Bonfire Night - even in the pouring rain!
When I die I will slide in sideways, a glass of wine in one hand and chocolate in the other, screaming, "Whooo hooo!  What a ride!" as life is to be enjoyed to the fullest!

Our council let of fireworks every week in August for the new holidaymakers down here, and the girls just cackle for a bit, so I shouldn't worry about it.  What really upsets my girls is the rescue helicopter which goes over us quite frequently, its stationed on Portland.  The girls run around frantically when its overhead, but settle down as it goes away.
