Title: Buying a Chicken Run
Post by: Hitman on September 28, 2014, 17:16
Dear all,

I am useless at DIY so want to buy, rather than make, a chicken run.  I have seen the metal tubing designs from Harrod Agriculture and am quite taken by them.    So I was wondering if anyone has any experience of these products.  I am looking at a 3mx3m run with the heavy duty chicken wire (for 3 chickens).

They are rather expensive so if anyone can advise of a similar product for less, then I would be pleased to take a look.

Many thanks

Hitman

I bought a metal tubed run off ebay for when mine aren't allowed to free-range (usually when my dogs are out as they love to chase the chickens). Mine measures 8 metres x 3 metres and I have also increased the amount of space by having raised areas for them to stand on. The only problem with mine was that it came supplied with chicken wire which is not fox proof so instead we bought welded wire mesh to use instead.
