these 2 are both inherited in our small back communal garden,i cannot remember if the one in the Brocken white pot flowered or not last year

Could the first one be Oregon Grape (Mahonia Aquifolium)?

1st I'd agree with surbie100, on some kind of Mahonia (holly like leaves, yellow flowers)

2nd I go with some type of Campanula, looks just like my one growing in a pot.

I have this particular one, but there are many varieties,

I agree with the first one, but the second looks like celandines which seem to have been rather rampant this year in our area.
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.
