Title: Bare root strawberries - dead or alive?
Post by: Joe Hicks on October 16, 2021, 09:12
Hi, does anyone know how soon you should see new growth with bare root strawberries? I've planted them before a few years ago but can't remember how quickly they "came to life"and that was in January. I ask because I planted ten a little over two weeks ago, some in a greenhouse and some outside, and only one in the greenhouse has shown any signs of life with a new leaf, and that started fairly soon after planting. So I'm wondering if the rest have all just died and I should try and reclaim my money! I appreciate they need some time to start growing again, but they look very dried and feel frail at the tops, but they've definitely had enough water (especially those outside). I got them from "gardenersdream" which I've not used before, and although it's big I had my reservations.

Thanks for any thoughts.
