Neighbours (next door but one) love perfecting their tiny garden and disapprove of my keeping hens (who are silent except for cat alert).  Without permission they like to clip my shrubs which overhang my brick garden wall (only parking space there and no pedestrians) and this has weakened my fox/catproofing defence >:(  Someone has suggested mounting a post on the wall and draping tough nylon netting to plug the gap.  Is this strong enough to keep foxy out?  A large BBQ grill would do it as well.

Trying to reach my immediate neighbour to get permission and get her wall cat-unfriendly - groan.....

Hoping 4 month old Pekins no longer at risk to cats anyway by now...
One grandma and 4 baby Pekins.

I am not sure about your other problems but any neighbour has the right to clip hedging/shrubbery/trees that overhang their garden from a neighbour's provided they give you them back!!! sorry if that doesn't help....

Hello
Yes - these neighbours are not even next door !!!!  My immediate neighbour is totally lovely but not around much.

My mum has gardening OCD  :D and interferes- she would call it 'helping you'!  Have you tried explaining?

A chat with lovely Gal next door - all is well.  'Cactus Products' to keep cats of the wall and a fence extension will fix it.  Will still need weldmesh for fox proofing I reckon.

Mr OCD unfixable - a bit of hen prejudice there I think.  Won't be getting eggs....

If you extend the fence so that it leans outwards away from your garden by 45 degrees that should go a long way to keepong fox out. You may need to ask permission of landowner on the other side to do this. :)
Experience is what you get when you didn't get what you wanted!!

you need to put the strips completely over the wall top overwise they walk carefully. Foxes dig down as well as climb, so wire need to be L shaped in the ground as well as high.

Yes that's right.  I foxproofed 2 years ago and sealed the ground then.  No cats since so working well.
