What is wrong with my rose? Ignoring the fact that it has lady's mantle hugging it  It looks like how my peppers look if I give them too much feed but i've not fed those roses so I assume it's a deficiency?

Nevermind, I just googled. It's probably iron defiency. I'll just chuck some of my ferrous phosphate slug pellets under there. Kill the slugs and solve the iron problem in one go! :D

i would say that it is competing for nutrients with the ladys mantle, and the lm is winning.

But I've read you should plant lady's mantle under roses. I've not fed the area at all, it's been completely neglected for a year and a half to 2 years....

hmmm, back in the dark ages " when i were a lad" doing my apprenticeship, we were told that roses should not be underplanted. one of the reasons was because of the competition for nutrients, roses being quite "greedy"....... mind you they also said the automobile would never catch on and that there was no such thing as global warming, everyone would be happy to live in high rise flats/tower blocks and labour would never win another election.
