Title: Quick Glass Cloche
Post by: richyrich7 on March 22, 2008, 20:52
Here's a really quick way to make a glass cloche from 2 sheets of glass and a block of wood.  You'll need access to a circular saw and a hand saw and a vice or similar. Also you will need safety goggles and possibly ear protection.

Get a block of wood about 3"x3" bit heavy but it's what I had laying around you can use lighter if you want.

Cut it into a 6" length with the hand saw,you may want to adjust the depth of cut on the circular saw so its about 1" depth.

Then run the circular saw all the way along its length about 1/3 of the woods thickness from the edge (1") turn the wood over repeat on the adjacent edge so it looks like this :

Slide onto glass job done

You could cut the the groves in a long piece of timber and then cut it down with the hand saw if you plan on doing a few.

Be careful when using a circular saw and be sure to clamp the wood firmly before you start cutting.

Cost £0.00 all bits I had laying around.
