Didn't soak mine, planted straight into ground, but kept moist. Problem is no germination whatsoever. So, more peas into plug trays - approx 90% germination (still not soaked before hand, but kept moist). Ready to plant out about now.

I did two sowings without soaking the peas and got very little in the way of germination.  Third sowing I soaked the peas overnight and had much better results.

If you did not have any germinate at all, sounds like mice had them. I plant mine straight into the ground covered with wire and netting. Nearly all of them germinate, did not soak them. I use one pack of seeds to every 6 foot of row.

Only three of my peas germinated. Thought it was the dry weather and my inexpereince,  I didn't think of  mice.  Would there be holes where the peas were if a mouse had had them, or do they leave no trace?

Actually, my peas don't have any flowers on them yet but my sisters have loads but are much shorter plants.

Although they are different variaties, hers is twinckle pea and mine are rhondo, I think its coz mine aren't getting enough direct sunlight.

Anyone know if there is any type of nutrient that would spur the plants on to flower?

just soak them in a little paraffin before sowing and the mice will have no interest in them
