Hi Everyone,
Strange one this, whats best to do!?

My 10 year old is an over enthusiastic Gardener. He planted some runner beans in late March and they are now too big and in need of sticks to be kept in doors - If I can protect them from more likely frost and they going to prosper or die as they are very premature!!??

I don’t know who to welcome first...you or your boy. Welcome both of you. Maybe if you have a sheltered spot in the garden the bean# might be ok especially if you protect against any frost. Keep an eye on the forecast, make your choice and keep your fingers crossed is the best I can come up with 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Welcome to you Garp from a near neighbour in Pontyclun!
As Fairy Plotmother said, you might as well go for it. You never know, with a bit of protection when required you might get away with it!

Hi there to you both, I’ve recently been quoted on this on another thread but a few years ago I didn’t get to plant out my runners when I should have done, I spent a  frustrating 1/2 hour trying to untangle their long growth that was all wrapped around each other. As fast as I untangled I it would wrap itsself around another one & so on. In the end I chopped off all but the bottom 2 leaves & planted them out. Perhaps you could do the same but pot them into bigger pots & keep them much cooler to slow them down & then plant them out nearer the right tome & under some protection

Welcome to you both.
You can never be too enthusiastic where gardening is concerned.  :nowink:
Re: Beans. Both Fairy Plotmother and Snowdrops suggestions sound worth a try. If you have enough seedlings why not try both?  Hedge your bets as it were.
