They do tend to get wrinkly, it's not a problem - hopefully they'll get planted before too long.

Previous years I've kept potatoes for the following and they go wrinkly, presumably they are dring out and/or using up there resources.
Planted them and still got resonable if not good harvest.
Hope this gives some reassurance.

On Beechgrove a couple of years ago they soaked wrinkled seed tatties in tepid water for a short time before planting.

I wouldn't bother soaking the tuber - once in the ground, roots just under the chitted sprout should grow to reach water in the soil and take in just the right amount they need.

On GQT they said that you can give them an occasional spray with a liquid seaweed mix.....

Whilst you may have been lucky with reusing spuds from one year to the next, it really is very poor practice.

There is no way of knowing whether your seed tuber has been infected until it grows and, potentially ruins not only your crop but those of others around you.

A member on here who is a professional potato grower was given a rare potato for growing on by someone he knew and trusted.  It suddenly became clear once properly growing that it was infected, and it was only because he was growing it in isolation that he managed to avoid infecting other plants and his business.  If he couldn't spot it, none of the rest of us could either.

Certified virus-free seed potatoes are really not expensive, and so the advice for others must be to buy these new every year.

I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

Yes you're right about using previous years potatoes.
My point was about the wrinkle potatoes and not using last years potatoes.
At the end of the day it's up to individuals what they do.
