books on chickens

hi all, a friend of mine is getting chickens soon for the first time and i was wondering if there were any useful books that covered anything you'd need to know about keeping them? any useful recommendations?

Someone on here recently mentioned a book called the Golden Cockerel, but I haven't seen it myself. I just tend to listen to Munty and a few others who have been keeping them for longer than me. I have a couuple of books but they are years old, also the smallholder magazine has good advice in for poultry keepers

Buy Katie Thear Starting with chickens its brill and you can get it through this site I think. I bought a copy and its brilliant. I have just ordered the one about Starting with Ducks to help me with rearing my ducklings and one on Starting with Geese as they take my fancy as the next venture of livestock for my garden.
