Garlic trouble
« on: June 05, 2013, 21:43 »
Hi, I planted some garlic ealier in the year to which were growing fine but now the leaves are starting to turn brown and die off.  anyone any ideas why??? I regularly water them so I know its nothing to do with the fact of drying out etc.

How are the bulbs doing?  Are they fattening up?  Usually the leaves going brown means they are ready for harvesting.  You might want to check one or two as they might be ready.

Browning leaves usually mean the plant has finished growing and can be pulled up. For most of us, it's still too early for our garlic to be ready but you might have planted a very early variety.

You can always test this by pulling up one and see what you have.
