french lops and a surprise!
« on: April 16, 2013, 10:38 »
Well, bit of a shock to the system last night, lol

Quick check over of our 2 french lops before bed, making sure food and everything was ok, quick check in the nesting box to make sure they had enough beddingand there’s a blanket of fur across the top of the wood shaving, oh, she must be moulting I said, then the bloomin thing moved! Lol

We had thought we had bought 2 girls from a breeder who seemed to know what she was doing, only to find out its actually a male and a female, so Flopsy has now been renamed Thumper, lol

Havent had a good look, but there seems to be 4, possibly 5 babies, all of this is new to me, but now means we have 1 cat, 1 dog, 6 rabbits and 7 chickens, aswell as 3 kids, lol

They are so cute - but what a surprise - will you keep them all or try to re-home some.  :)

So cute.  Could we see photos of mum and dad?    :D

If they are kept outdoors you could enter a picture in the "Despite the Weather" photo competition HERE   ;)

They are lovely and what great photos! Can you post more photos of the babies when they get a little bit bigger?!

I have two lops - both neutered so no chance of babies but that doesn't stop them trying!!

Lovely, I wonder what colour the babies will turn out.

Good job you are over 40 miles away as I would be tempted to offer one two three them all a home!!   ::)

Hope you have separated the parents, they mate ASAP.

So, if you don't have enough in this litter, the 2nd one won't be far behind.

They are sweet at that age, aren't they?  :)

As a kid, I miss sexed a young male guinea pig, pity he was in a group of 8 females, mum was not happy.

Neil....I want one! And the random coincidence I saw this post on here as well as fb means I am meant to get a pet rabbit. Tim says no way, spoil sport. I think you should take them to work when big enough. Imagine the fun....people take babies in, why not pets?

They are lovely.

Sounds like the breeder needs to reread her book on rabbit biology though...
