Title: Teeny tiny potatoes.
Post by: Kleftiwallah on August 06, 2015, 16:40

How do I keep teeny tiny potatoes (about the size of a good goosegog) overwinter for planting next year.

As always - over to you.   Cheers,  Tony. ;)

Me personally I would eat them and only plant certified seed potatoes just in case.

If you really must, then in a brown paper bag in the salad box of the fridge.

Or try Alan Titmarsh's idea - in a buried biscuit tin  ;)

A goosegog is a bit small for a seed potato, I think. Commercial seed potatoes aim for egg size. You might find there's not much energy in them. You could maybe try a few for an experiment to see if it works for future years, but I wouldn't bet a whole year's harvest on them just in case.

Snoop - you've just echoed what my late Dad-in-law said re- seed pots. He was an agricultural labourer and told me to only buy seed pots the size of a hen's egg.
