i had to have my eldest cat pts on Tuesday i took her to the vets with what i thought was an abscess on her cheek and in her mouth but the vet said it was a tumor but gave her antibiotics as it was infected it went down for a bit but then came up again she also said she has an over active thyroid as her gland was very enlarged any i took her back on tue as it has got bigger and she told me i could have sent her to a specialist but would still only have had few months and as it was the roof of her mouth would have been very hard to treat or i could have brought her home on antibiotics till it go so big she could not eat any more but thought it was better to have her pts while she was in no pain it has broke my heart i had her since she was 5 weeks old and she was 14 when she was pts just feel really low at the moment

so sorry but you took the right action, she would have ended up in pain.
You have had 14 years together so she will have left you with thousands of very happy memories to cherish. Huge hugs xx

You really did the right thing. Some owners can't bear to part so just leave it to suffer

You did the right thing. I lost my cat last year who had overactive thyroid and kidney failure. Hard decision but right to not let them suffer.

I'm so sorry about your cat. It is heartbreaking to put an animal to sleep. Had to put down one of my cats about a year and a half ago. I miss him so much. Just remember your kitty loves you and is still watching out for you from the other side of the rainbow bridge. <3

It is the final act of love we have for them. Be proud that easing her suffering was more important than your own. It still breaks my heart remembering putting my cat to sleep last year so sending a big hug.

I understand totally how you feel.
Be glad you were strong enough to let her go with dignity and without pain.
Not an easy decision but certainly the right one.
Thinking of you

No animal should be allowed to suffer if there is no adequate treatment for them. You did the right thing for your pet.
Remember all the good times she brought to you
