Sounds like you have got a bit of beginner's luck, but I would eat those leeks up fast Boogaloo as they are likely to bolt soon and grow a flower spike  :)

My japanese onions are nearing their end now as I eat them up as green onions like Gavin  :D  Eat yours as soon as you want as they have limited keeping qualities  ;)

Well 1/4 of my leeks were guzzled today. Delicious braised with thyme and white wine. Recommend the recipe hugely (it's a Jamie O one). Japanese onions I was going to leave in a while longer, but as I'm fairly short of space I think I'll pluck em out fairly soon.

I thought they were supposed to be bigger than normal onions ! Still only small considering they were planted last Autumn.

Well, I have had to pull them as the stalks have gone (eaten and just fallen naturally). I have to say it wasn't worth the effort of an early Autumn planting as they are only just a bit bigger than the size they were when I bought them. About the size of a golf ball.

Massively disappointing as they are supposed to be big  :(
