  Seriously my mate had to get rid of his trio so I agreed to have them!  Im collecting them in the morning!  Wifey asked if I didnt have enough birds already and of course I answered nope!

I will be taking delivery of turkeys  soon (being raised for mid winter festival ).  We did it last year with 3 but have upped it to 10 this year  They're ugly but endearing and taste scrummy

ah yes a new pen is under construction.  The Christams mid winter festival bird has already been hatched so we are sorted there so these will be for breeding (already proven hence our chick) so an investment more than anything else. 

having said that for the price I have paid I could just eat them!

so what breed are they - I don't think trukeys are ugly just different and they have lovely eyes

They are Norfolk blacks      and they are damn ugly!!!!!!!!  Pics to follow to prove my point of view!

Agree 100%  They are very endearing, it was touch and go last year they would end up on the plate as OH got attached to them  :blink: I then reminded him how much an equivalent turkey would cost for dinner - no more doubts!

am awaitng my delivery of noel turkey it will be our first year and i am a little nervous but dead excited as the meat hens were sooooooooooooooooo tasty
