Brilliant

It's never occurred to me to name my plots.

I do have names for everything else though -

Sally Sparrow Hawk
Woody Wood Pigeon
Sydney Slow Worm
Robby Robin

etc. etc.!
Gardening organically on chalky, stony soil.

ps. let's hope your plot lives up to its name.... make sure Mr-Chris-the-Veg has a long list of sowing and planting and weeding tasks every time he heads off to VEGALOTTIE!

I was looking at Chris' question about the lunar planting, it seems the dabate rages.  Personally I think there's something in it, I saw some very convincing trails on TV by a non believer.  But apart fom that if the moon controls the tides and weather, it follows that it can affect soil moisture levels, and therefore the chemical processes within, and moisture uptake of seedlings.  It can also affect fertility, especially observed with horses apparently- I have a book 'gardening and planting by the moon 2007' .  According to that today is good for planting out strawberries and beans. Tomorrow gardening best avoided so paint yer shed! Saturday, Sunday, and Monday it's go,go,go with the root crops.  I'm always so overwhealmed by the amount I have to do and the lack of time to do them I use it as a guide to focus my efforts, cos I need shortcuts.  There are calenders of it on the internet of course if you fancy giving it a go.
Good name 4 the lotty mine's Plot 21! aka My holiday desination, cos I feel like I've been on holiday if I can get a nice day up there and that's where I like to spend any time off.
