Hello I'm new to the forum and gardening!!!! I've just bought an Al Ko 5hp farmer rotavator (engine Tecumseh). Does anyone know what petrol/oil is used in these machines as I,ve no manual :?

Hi gabbie & welcome. There are a few mechanically minded folks on the forum who should be able to help. I am incompetent & simply wanted to say hello.

Thanks for the welcome David. I'll wait in anticipation for the 'mechanically minded.
Kind regards

Google turned this up ... perhaps your engine model is listed?

any old unleaded fuel will do, and the tecumseh uses SAE30 oil in its oil sump. you can use 20W50 at a pinch. the most important thing with any tecumseh engine is NEVER let it run low on oil (they self destruct if you do)
have fun with it!

Thanks very much for the advice. I'm now off to my allotment to try it out.

I was going to say all of that, of course ...

Thanks for the advice. I used the rotavator yesterday and it works well. I would recommend the Al Ko farmer.
