I have just found some pumpkin seeds in my shed, my question is am i to late to plant them now?

i am no expert, this is myfirst time, but i have just germinated 3 different types. according to the packets now was the time to do it. they were slow to germinate so don't feel tempted to chuck away too soon. i nearly did  . everything is later up here so timeings for all my veg is slightly different.

what kind have you got? i am trying spaghetti squash, turk's turban, and roulette? tennis ball size ones, seemingly good for roasting whole.

Errr nope, make sure that when you transplant the hole is full of goodness for them. I normally start mine off begining of May so you should be ok.

oops, have i got it all wrong again Aidy?  have some small seedlings now and lots of horse poo, do you think i will get a crop?

don't think so Scotty. I start my seed in the begining of may, transplant at the end. The hole it goes in is around 4x4x2 ish, filled with well rotted muck. Then if the weather is right you end up with a boris...
and if your really good as Wellies was you beat the 100lbs. Boris was 86lbs but I had to lift him early as the local chavs were trying to nick him.

Don't forget that pumpkins need to be fertilised to get fruit so if you grow them in a tunnel make sure bees etc have access... or you can do the honours yourself of course with a little paintbrush

the new plan, have 2 of each type, so 1 of each inside and 1of each outside
plenty manure to all and paintbrush the ones inside.

and here is me thinking this would be an easy veg to grow. if i get anything i will send a pic

What I've done this year is to fill up old tires with muck and then some compost on top. I've got nine tires and I've spaced them to about a metre or metre and half with wood chip in between to keep the weeds down. Anybody had success like this before?
