I've got a plot :-)
« on: September 07, 2011, 09:12 »
I got a phone call over the weekend from the secretary at my nearest allotment site. There's a half plot for me if I want it. That only took two years, so not bad.

I can stop stealing little bits of the garden here and there now, which will please my wife I'm sure. Good timing too as I can get it ready for next season.

I just wanted to share the good news.

I've just been given half a plot to have a go at as a helper (but can do my own thing on the whole half) am over the moon. Know how you must feel. Congrats  :D

I found that the quickest way to get an allotment is to hassle the secretary up to and throughout winter. Often when they try to allocate sites in the winter season no-one wants them. And if you're lucky enough to get one, you can start prepping so it's ready for spring.

Great news Simon, well done.  I know how exciting it feels as I have only had my allotment for about 2 months!

Depends on the system.  If you tried hassling me as described you'd find yourself off the list eventually, but not with a plot!
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

Where in the 'toon' is your plot Simon??

I can recommend a damn good manure supplier!  ;)

Unless someone there has already mentioned him.

Good for you Simon, I've had mine well over a year now and I still feel as excited as I did when I first got it.  I love it.

It's at the three mile site. It was one of the first things I was going to ask the allotment secretary when I meet him tonight, but a recommendation would be welcome.
