bottled the raspberry vodka and sloe gin

Both the raspberry vodka and sloe gin are scrumptious  :D

Bought two very fine wire sauce sieves this year, which were perfect for pouring the liquid through (put them both together) into a jug, before pouring into their final small bottles.

Raspberry vodka is a beautiful clear scarlet, and the sloe gin deep clear purple.

Despite some concerns raised by others at the time, the sloe gin with a couple of cloves in is a real hit in our house  :D :D

The raspberries, mixed with vanilla ice cream and topped with an almond macaroon, made an amazing pudding, so have put the rest in the fridge for late over the holiday

Put them in the next lot of jam I make?  I'm assuming that the stones will rise to the top like plum stones, so I can hoik them out with the slotted spoon

They will rise to the surface but they are very small and easy to miss -- tothbreakers, we call 'em  ;)

I put some back into my 'prezzies' to give the 'authentic look'. Not sure what I'm going to do with the left over sloe gin though, hehehe!  :D

Yeah right  ;)  :D  Hope you have thoroughly tested your sloe gin to ensure it is up to standard  :)

I gave some raspberry vodka as pressies and got a couple of texts yesterday saying it was going down very well.  Got blueberries and strawberries in vodka for my mum today so hoping she likes it.  I soaked fruit in the vodka for about 6 weeks, then refreshed the fruit about a week ago.  The flavoured vodka was nectar so going to make some extra for me next year  :)

I think the ginned sloes do not have enough water content for jamming and what moisture/alcohol  there is will be lost in boiling sugar without the stone floating to the top.

I know for sure that removing the sloe flesh from the stones manually is very tedious when preparing them for a dunk in dark chocolate.

Quite happy to be proved wrong on this MOS.
