chickens are reasonalby easy to look after so it makes u wander why they got rid of them ? but at least they were not left to roam free by themselves as i have had near me . someone dumped maybe two or more silkies for the fox to have for dinner why they didnt come to me first i dont know, my farmer friend found them but the one that was alive didnt last very long if it had of done he was going to let me have her .

well they are rather lovely, 2 fawn girl runners rather sweet, will take piccies tommorrow, have just put them to bed in a spare duck arc next to some others similar in age.

there was 3 runner ducklings on our local pets 4 life forum but unfortunatly I didn't get chosen to rehome them  :(, still am all prepared now with kennel and paddling pools should any others need a home  :D

Sounds like someone must have been in a desperate situation.  Glad they did what they did, rather than just let them out for the fox.
'Thank You' note was a nice touch!

I've taken in several homeless fish.......but never had them turn up unannounced!

I only hear of cockerals being dumped in people's garden, lucky to have got hens, but I would go with the advice of keeping them separate for a couple of weeks & treat for lice etc.
