hi all i bread 5 hens last year in incubator and now one of them is clocking and sat on a dozen eggs,problem is where she is clockering is in the main hen house she shares with 15 other hens,now question is should i move her and her eggs to a pen on her own  or leave her where she is as im worried the rest may kill the chicks if i leave her in the main henhouse?please advise many thanks john

No, she needs to be moved to a small house and pen by herself, or, as you say, the other hens could kill the wee chicks at, or soon after hatching.

BTW, you may have more luck with responses using "broody" as "clocking" is not a term we see used very often on this board

thanks for the advice i have moved her into her own pen and hen house,had a bit of trouble but once she knew she was in there to sit on her eggs shes settled and sat back on them,hope she doesnt leave them il keep you all posted 8 days now she been sat  on them il let u know if and when they hatch thanks for the advice,regards john

well i checked my hen this morning and took her of to stretch her legs eating and drinking straight back on the eggs so hopefully she settled in ok.
