Hi All, I'm new to this site, I did a search for rotovators and you came up.
After having my plot for 7 years now and having had to dig it manually, I have been given, yes couldn't beleive it myself, given a Norlett 5 hp rotovator today. It's ancient, but got a B&S engine and 4 blades the only downside is that I have to repair/replace the "belt". I'm wondering if anyone has an instruction manual for this kind of machine, or know where one could be bought/downloaded. Also was given a kind of furrowing attachment, but no instruction on where it's supposed to go...any ideas. I will no doubt figure it all out when I get some time to experiment but I thought I'd ask for some pointers from anyone out there with more experience on this sort of thing than me. try a lawn mower repair shop  . garden centres will or should have contacts for you ,i wil see what i can get together for you asap .others on this site may have the same machineand may help as well

If the mower repair centre fails to come up with the goods try this:

Wrap some thick string round the pulleys and fix a tight loop. Remove the loop carefully and take it to a car spares shop and tell them you want a fan belt for a machine that size. The original would have been manufactured as a stock item for the motor trade and it is a matter of trial, error and luck to get a replacement.

have a look on the machine where the engine is bolted on. on some norletts you will find that you can move the engine forward and back a bit as ithe engine mounting bolts go through slots rather than holes. this gives you a bit of play if you cant get the right belt.
engine manual could be got from s.e.s in sutton, the norlett manual would be quite a rare beast now, but any other rotovator manual will give you the idear of how it works.
is it the white colour model? back in a previous life i used to sell them.

I do hope you have a photocopy of the aforementioned manual, or better still a photo of the belt run on your Norlett ?
I seem to have a plethora of pulleys (some V to use the business side of the belt and some flat to use the back of the belt..very odd.
my brain hurts.
please assist if poss
