I wonder if there is a way of getting daily digests of the allotment gardenings posts, as I often forget to visit the site until I get a problem, which is a bit selfish of me, as I might be able to offer advice from time to time  rather than just seeking it?

It isn’t a digest, but it might remind you to log in and see what is happening on the forum

Viewing "Recent Unread Topics" and "Updated Topics" (links just below the Login / Logout button) can also give you an idea of what has changed recently.  Also not a daily digest, but it can keep you up-to-date,
