Hi, i have spoken with the vet and they have said that it will not stay in place even with stitches, so we have done the kindess thing with her.

Sorry you had to lose Kate but it was the kindest thing to do  :(   It's always horrible when something like this happens but you did your best for her.

Thanks guys, do feel a bit sad, will always try and save them if i can, but vet said that it was the kindess thing to do, he did offer to put her to sleep with an injection, but thankfully OH will do it when he has to, not that he likes to do it.
The prolapse just wouldn't stay in, every timei put he on the ground it just kept popping back out.

Really sorry that she couldn't be saved but sounds like you did the best thing for her. Sometimes if reduced it will stay in and the swelling settles and the problem resolves  it can be long term. If it keeps coming back then it is something probably incurable.

Sorry you had to lose her. How old was she? It can be a problem in ducks who come into lay very young.
Be like a duck. Calm on the surface but always paddling like the dickens underneath.
