The clue is in the wording, it's a 'hosepipe' ban.
You can fill your bucket or can up at the tap, as often as you want to - but you can't use a hosepipe - unless you have a disability recorded with your local water board.

I have been using a hosepipe to fill my watering cans and the wife has been watering her hanging baskets and plants in containers, they dont seem to have suffered, (but the wife is fed up with it)

I have used a hosepipe to top up my pond and to clean out the filters

The water suppliers told me that animal welfare is the highest priority, now I dont know if fish come under the heading of animals, they are well just fish

I havent had any water company knocking on my door
