Can Leeks follow Garlic.......

My garlic is due to come out of the ground soon and i was wondering if i can plant leeks in their place?

You do run the risk of the leeks inheriting any diseases from the onions.  Personally I wouldn't grow them back to back.

With so much onion rot about these days, you risk concentrating it in an area with lots of alliums (leeks, garlic, shallots, onions, green onions, lilies).

While it's handier to keep them in one area, you're better off planting them elsewhere and putting in something else like beans or a cover crop of green manure like rye.
