Don't know if this of any interest to you all but I just received this notification from Horticultural Weekly:-

'This spring's first flights of peach-potato aphids (Myzus persicae) have been two to four weeks earlier than average, pointing to potentially high numbers in brassica crops this summer'.

I found a colony of black aphids on my broad beans today. Will be keeping an eye on them ready to pinch the tops out if I see any more.
