I bought two plastic 'thingys' that are supposed to enable me to poach eggs in the microwave but all I get is half the egg cooked and the other half raw. Has anybody else got these and if you have and it works please tell me how it's done :? . I like my poached chuckies on toast :) .
He's my best buddy, my dog called Woody.
If it works, organic. If it don't, well.........??

I've bought no end of these darn things and they all seem to do the same, it's cos the yolk cooks quicker n the whites.  So back to the pan water, vinegar etc      It takes practice  :D

I have one of those plastic egg poachers too and mine comes out alright.  Do you pierce the yolk and add a teaspoon of water per egg grasshopper?

Just bought one from Tesco for 50p (reduced) that does 4 eggs, followed the instructions regarding piercing and adding water and it works fine, although it takes 2 mins, not 1 min as on instructions.

So I've now made a 'healthy eating' pledge - no more fried eggs!

Another thought - would 2 mins in the microwave use less energy than boiling eggs on the hob?
