I have a potato problem....
« on: February 17, 2013, 21:18 »
Hi everyone. I have a potato problem that I was hoping someone could help me with.

This will be my first growing season on my allotment and one of the things I plan to grow is potatoes.  The problem I have is that the previous tenant appears to have grown potatoes EVERYWHERE as every bed that I dig I find potatoes hiding in it. So.... Where do I plant potatoes this year? I'm aware of the rule of not planting potatoes in the same place in consecutive years.  Is there any thing I can do to the soil to help avoid any problems? Or should I just go ahead and plant where I planned anyway?

Any suggestions welcomed.

Thank you in advance.

Don't get too wound up with crop rotation for the sake of one year.

Treat it as a blank canvas and start your own plan.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?
