I've just checked and I have garlic shoots already.  Very exciting but is it early?

Would you like the two letter, short answer?
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Ha ha, I'm assuming you're saying no. :tongue2:

The only reason I asked, is because I googled it (as you do) and looking on some blogging sites, their shoots were only slightly bigger in April, and they were talking about them bolting.  I'll be ever so disappointed if they don't work.

Mine are a few inches high at the moment :)

Mine went in last November as well and are looking good, about 6 inches high.
Giving them a feed of wood ashes today.

:D Doesnt matter what the plant is some will worry they are shooting too soon, others will worry they are not shooting at all.

Will they live
Will they die
Will they crop
Will  they bolt

I think I might pose the question on another thread, Why do we panic so much so early in the growing year.
(and most of us do it about something at some point  :D )

The garlic we planted in October, which a mouse (french ?) pulled up some cloves of and chewed is now about 4 to 6 inches tall.
Unless otherwise stated it can be assumed ALL posts are by Pa Snip

We ask that every year. I suppose this year will be no different, someone has to ask it!

 :D I can well imagine  :D

I have already thought that every question has probably been asked in some way, shape or form in the time the site has been going.

I'm growing several types. Some are just poking through, others are 7" tall already.  ??? There's no point trying to compare your garlic to any other - they will just do their thing in their own sweet time.

Mine were from a donated supermarket garlic bulb; planted 8/2, first showed 23/2, now a couple of inches tall.

Apparently they were originally grown in Spain, so I've learned a few words to try and make them feel more at home:

"Me encanta tu brotes"!

(If it's rude blame Google translator, not me!)  8)
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!
