After struggling for years (and finally giving up) on a RYOMI strimmer, I'm looking for a new one.  One one criteria - easy starting.

After mine got nicked I bought a newer version of it - starts first time every time so it may just be down to the model / machine rather than the brand.

If money is no object or if you use it a lot I'd agree with Sparkyrog.

Just bought a timberpro trying it at the weekend. 1/2 acer too clear. First impression is good and better than expected

hi try stihl or husqavarna i have used many makes but always go back to a stihl the latest one starts first pull every time only thing to be wary of is to get the mix right and correct oil, the memory soon lets you know if the mix is wrong jezza

Which model did you buy Lardy?  I bought a petrol strimmer when I first had the plot, and after giving myself shoulder strain from trying to start the blooming thing I gave up, and it is now mouldering away in the shed. Complete waste of money.  I'd love to buy a new one, but I need to know I can start it.

The one that got nicked was RTL30CES the replacement was a RLT26HT. I wouldn't recommend either but at least the replacement starts.

I have a Ryobi touch start, brilliant machine.
