Bleeding After First Egg
« on: March 17, 2014, 14:34 »
Hi Everyone,  My little Dutch Banty just laid her first egg and she made a bit of noise doing it.  They egg is beautiful with no blood on it.  However, I noticed that she has a blood coming from her vent now.  Just a trickle, but should I be concerned?  Will this pass as she gets older?
When I die I will slide in sideways, a glass of wine in one hand and chocolate in the other, screaming, "Whooo hooo!  What a ride!" as life is to be enjoyed to the fullest!

1st eggs can be alot larger than the size they will normally lay. Make sure the others aren't pecking at her vent.

Thank you, Grinnling!  It is a whopper for a little peewee like her!  There's been no more blood since and she hasn't laid today either.  Thank you so much for helping me.   ;)

Joyfull, she just laid another egg and it is blood covered.  It's been about three days since her first egg.  This egg is slightly smaller and tapered.  Poor little girl screams while she is laying - must be terribly uncomfortable!
