Title: Bantie Orpintons???
Post by: jinty1911 on January 17, 2011, 20:06
Been thinking of hatching a few eggs in the Spring and quite like the look of Bantie Orpingtons.  I have 3 ever broody Silkie x Light Sussex chicks that would oblige with the hatching bit but am worried about upsetting the Status Quo.  The wee chicks I have at the moment are very happy and don't seem to argue at all so don't want to change this.  What do you think?

if you are happy with how things are at the moment why do you want to change things? Also what will you do if they all hatch into cockerels?

I have two Bantie buff orpingtons and they are lovely. They live with two pekins and are quite gentle, even though they are much bigger. They were all from the same hatch though and have grown up together.  It may be a different story if adding new chicks to an existing group???
