Well after months of waiting I have finally got a rotavator from Freecycle :D :D :D :D :D :D
Can you tell I am chuffed!
It doesn't work YET , but give me, jon and me dad a week and it'll be going I hope :?
Think its a briggs and stratton :?: Can't remeber exactly.
The gentleman was lovely and I really want his house It was in the most amazing location on top of a valley, totally isolated in the middle of no-where. It was a bit scary at times trying to reach it going up about 1/2 a mile of steep bumpy track :shock: In our old serena was not the best vechile for the job. So Not only did I want his rotavator I want his house too. :D
right I'll stop waffleing now :D

I'm sure if you ask him nicely, he'll give you a call before he puts his house on Freecycle :wink:

good score! Ive had a rotovator Ad on my local freecycle for a while now, but no responce ...yet :)

I have done a few adds over the last few months and also seen a few offers - but never got their in time - bit annoying really as one was offered just a couple of hours after I posted a wanted a month or so ago, but patience got me their in the end :D
This time I was lucky :D keep trying leeky i am sure one will find it's way to you.

Finally got my camera sorted so heres a piccy. Carling Jon decidd it would be a good idea to take the pully cover off :roll: and has now
decided he cant get the spring to coil again :?
I am sure all it needed was a bit of wd40.. Dad is hopefully coming over tomorrow to have a looksie- although he sais that last saturday too :x

know what you mean they are a begger to get back on but once you have done it its a doddle the secret is,you need 2 pair of hands :wink:
and when hes doing it tell him to keep his tongue in :lol:

next time, take the enginge cover off, turn upside down, squirt oil into large hole in the centre of the recoil (wd40 to start with) leave over night, refit.
thems springs can be a right *. where some eye protection when fiddling with them.
i find winding them up outside of the recoil housing, as small as i can, then holding it with pliers as i refit it, works for me. :wink:

After a long afternoon of hard graft by my old man, still no life in ye olde begger.
Does anyone know where maybe I could get a manual for it, have tried the briggs and stratton site to no avail, doesn't help that Although have found several numbers none of them seem to be the model number.
Basically spark plug is ok we are pretty sure. Could it be the magneto :?: :? Any ways hew will hopefully be back within the next week to have another look, but wandering if any of your expertise could help us.
We have freed the inlet valve (was sticking), de coked all that bit too. sorted the spool, cleaned up all the earths checked fuel flow, changed the oil, sorted some bearing s out :?: think was about it. She does wanna go now and turn over, but she will not fire :cry:
Ant ideas anyone.

The engine on yours looks very similar to mine, I have a owners manual for that if it's any help. But all it shows is just general maintenance and how to adjust carb etc. If you want it PM me with your email addy and I'll send it.

From your pics, it looks as though it is the same engine as on my Landmater S88. I could get no spark whatsover. With Gwiz's help and advice, I replaced the points and it started first pull. If you need advice on removing the flywheel, pm me.

i didnt read the posts after my last comment, and didnt realise you were still having problems with it.

Thankyou so much, my partner has just done the points and their is a spark :D :D :D
I found the thread where gwiz told you how to do it, so a huge thanks to gwiz as well, we were about to try and swap the engine over with an another one from a mower, so saw the post in the nik of time.
