The dreaded flea bay is always a good bet or County mowers if there is one near you.

Briggs & Stratton replacement fuel tanks are actually quite expensive.  Why do you need a new fuel tank - rust? or a leak?

If it's a leak, I'd try an epoxy resin sealant - check it's resistant to petrol first, though.

If it's rust, you could try removing the tank, putting some fencing staples or gravel inside, together with a proprietary rust remover, and shaking it (for ages!)....  this, followed by treatment with a phosphoric acid rust preventative (turns blue-black) has worked for me in the past.   Alternatively, I believe electrolysis works very well, although I've never tried it - just google "youtube electrolytic cleaning fuel tank".

If you really want a new tank, you need to first identify the part number - get the engine identification codes, which should be stamped somewhere on the flywheel shroud, and enter into either the official Briggs website (http://www.briggsandstratton.com/us/en/support/manuals/engine) or any other US parts site, and look up the 6 digit part number for your engine.  Then either search "flea bay" or try your local Briggs service agent or an online vendor - I have used Shoulders of Shoreham in the past.  (Beware buying anything from the US, unless all import duties are paid, as the Post Office may charge you a small fortune for collecting a few pounds import duty/VAT.)

Easy really  ;)

If it's a leak, I'd try an epoxy resin sealant  - check it's resistant to petrol first, though. You can buy some stuff called Pet seal. It comes in either liquid form or putty. It works on steel plastic or fiber glass tanks. your local motor factor shop will probably have this
