Just a heads up if anyone is looking for one. I found 100L slimline butts for £12 at Home Bargains. No stand or drain diverter kit, but they do come with a tap. The same butts were also being sold in Tesco for £20. Argos also has 100L slimline water butts that come with a stand and drain diverter kit for £19.99.
Also Lidel are selling water butt pumps for £29.99. I didn't realize, but they actually go inside the butt itself (so technically they are "sumps"). I picked up a couple so I could use one for making aerated compost teas.

That is true, but by the same token, cheap does not necessarily mean rubbish. I don't think you can go far wrong with a water butt (unless it leaks - in which case it's going back for a refund!), but perhaps the pumps might be a bit of a gamble.
I suspect this thread would have been better posted in the "frugal living" forum, after having a look over there.

If you want a cheap one then go to homebase, wilko, b&q etc.

My B&Q one has a crack in it after 5 years. I think that will happen to a lot of plastic in full sun so cheap might be as OK as any

Good point noshed - I think I'll be siting my butts and storage bins in shade or finding a way to screen them from the sun. I just ordered enough bins to store 1340 ltrs, and it cost me quite a bit, so I don't want them cracking after a few years.
If anyone is after fairly cheap storage, this site (http://www.britishbins.co.uk/off-stock-seconds-lidless/) has slightly damaged reduced price bins that should work well, and range in size from 80-770 ltr.
