Absolutely, yes  {:^)
To be honest, the only reason I jumped in was because I was surprised to see the subject being discussed and I was concerned about the original poster's misinformation about the safety of the method.

I wouldn't recommend that anyone try to artificially increase the alcohol content of their brew - Nature can make it quite strong enough ! However, some people will always want to try and should make themselves fully aware of the facts, so that their decision can at least be an informed one.

There are plenty of places on the web where the subject is examined in as much or as little depth as an inquiring mind can handle - probably even a forum for enthusiasts (though probably not as tidy as this one {;^)

Me, I came here to learn more about growing veg and chickens...
