Coastal growers have always known the value of seaweed as a fertiliser but for those of us further inland, extract feeds will do the job nicely.

I hadn't thought of using the diluted solution as a spray in all those different scenarios - will have to hunt out the sprayer!
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

In my experience the liquid stuff like Envii is more of a supplement than a feed.  I've experimented using just Envii and adult plants have struggled, I suspect that not enough of the macro NPKS nutrients at the concentrations that would be affordable for me.  That said, I still use it as a foliar spray and often throw a splash in watering cans on days between 'feeds'.  One thing I notice is that when used as a foliar spray I can see the residue once the leaves have dried and wonder if this might slightly reduce the amount of sunlight getting through (like dirty windows do!).  I doubt it's an issue outdoors as rain will wash it off again but under glass it might build up?

I look on seaweed extract feeds like vitamins - a supplement rather than basic nutrition. I'm not sure there would be a benefit from adding banana skins in home made liquid feeds but can't do any harm.
