Here comes summer
« on: June 06, 2010, 19:16 »
I love this time of year so I apologise in advance for my unashamed cooing over my veg  :nowink:

First pick of strawbs and goosgogs

Plenty more strawbs on the way.  This is an old incinerator I've painted with Hammerite , lined and planted up.  I'm going to get more runners planted into the sides later on.

Crazy new pots in the greenhouse.  This was the potato growing bag, seed pot and 10 packets of seed offer off the T&M web site I posted on frugal living a few months back so if the pots are as good as they look, that will have been well worth it.

Peppers starting to form in the greenhouse

Hanging baskets with 2 x Garden Pearl and 2 x Tumbling Tom in them.  Planted them up in the greenhouse a few weeks ago and they went outside about 2 weeks ago.

This is new tom for me from The real Seed Company called simply Bush Very Early.  Once again got potted up in cold greenhouse as soon as I dared and went out a couple of weeks ago.  It's a straggly beast but doing exactly what it said on the tin

Had to check that I hadn't walked into a Tardis and jumped forward a month without realising!

So impressed I'm almost not jealous!  ;)
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

One of the best things about being an orang-utan is the fact that you don't lose your good looks as you get older

It all looks fantastic and I'm green with envy. My peppers and toms haven't even got flowers on yet  :( Hopefully, it's just a matter of time though.

Wow i have just looked at your pictures with amazement and jealousy :tongue2:. My strawberries are no where near ready and the size of your pepper plant..i'm impressed.

Just said to my husband how unfair look at this mans gooseberries ..i dont have any yet. Donned shoes and went to look at said bush, and i do indeed have plenty, it's at the side of the greenhouse and don't see it very often..so thanks for that  :D.

you coo as much as you like you have good reason

The strawberries look lovely. I've loads but they haven't started blushing yet.

You photos make me pleased I took the time to put the bed in last year.

Just as well, not sure your hubby would like you looking at a man's gooseberries anyway!! :)

Seriously though, new shoot, lovely pictures and a wonderful crop so far.  Just goes to show how far ahead of us Scots you are down south!

I'm further south and none of my fruit & veg is anywhere near that stage - I've got greenhouse envy!  ::)

Wow they are amazing pictures.  I have a very small pin head sized green tomato and I was jumping around about that!

Well done to you for being so far ahead!

All I can say is I HAVE to get a polytunnel in the allotment lol

What a wonderful set of fruit and veg, u should be very proud.

Correction: I am turning my allotment into a big polytunnel (oh if only they would allow that lol)
