Pumpkins
« on: June 06, 2007, 09:58 »
I planted 8 pumpkin seeds in the middle of May and they were all up and doing well.  Went to the plot yesterday to plant them out having been hardened off in the cold frame to find nothing but stumps!!!  Bl**dy Slugs.

Am I to late to put more in and get some reasonably good results for Halloween and eating? :?:

I think you should be ok, I planted my seeds last week as did some other plot holders on my site.

I'm growing 'baby bear' and the instructions are to sow outdoors in May and June. I'm also growing squash 'Crown prince' and that also should be sown outdoors in May and June.
Try my best to be Organic but don't always make it

as well as re-sowing you could see if anyone else on the site has left over plants they want to find a good home for.
Gardening organically on chalky, stony soil.

I can't beleive my luck this year!

Took your advice and planted another 12 pumpkin seeds last night.  My O/H has just phoned me to say that when she went past the greenhouse earlier she noticed the tray had been ransacked by the mice.  I will have to go out and purchase another packet of seeds now!!
