Hi again poppie have a look at the following web site, it seems that pygmy goats milk is higher in butterfat which makes it a rich creamy milk. Goats milk I think is good for people with allergies (a friend of ours drinks that when he can get it or soya milk if no goats milk available). Just watch them though if they are like ordinary goats as they will eat any thing and everything - coats included (talking from experience here - we bought an old railway carriage that had all teak mouldings in it which apparently used to be a certain goats home and he wasn't very impressed with us taking it away )

I'd heard they could be naughty little nippers, but I guess with all critters its they way you treat them and bring them up NO means NO ;)

I have two, Pegasus and Mercury.  They were bought to keep the pen down where the Shetlands were kept because Theseus kept getting Laminitus. They butt you with their little horns any chance they get but do do the job they were got for. They are also great escape artistes.  They will eat anything and I mean anything.

Thankyou Barney but I think they're past that stage now.  They are both 5 years old and were kept to keep the Shetlands company.  All my animals are on the mainland (Farnham, Surrey) as when I moved the Island they were all oldish and were happy where they were.  I have regular updates and direct from here.

I have 2 pygmy boys.  They are real characters and very friendly.  They do try and escape but they come when called so not a big problem.  I'd definitely recommend them.  Make aure their diet isn't too protein-rich - if you give them a goat feed in winter it's best to mix it with oats.
